Kept up to date by activity staff

What’s on today?

Today’s activities with the time and room, and the date at the top. Large type and strong contrast, so residents can read it from across the room.

Everyone looks after their own part.

With Team, every member of staff has their own account and role. Activity staff update the programme, the kitchen updates the menu, and you decide who can publish.

A playlist for each room

Show the menu and the programme on the restaurant display and give the staff room a playlist of its own.

Rotas and internal messages stay out of sight of residents and visitors.

Permissions for each task

Let colleagues and volunteers prepare pages and give publishing rights to whoever looks after the programme.

A volunteer adds the bingo afternoon; the activity coordinator publishes it.

On screen at the right time

Schedule when a page appears and when it goes again.

The menu shows around lunchtime, and after the Christmas party the usual programme returns by itself.

For each colleague you decide in which workspace they can view, edit or manage.
The users in an organisation, with the workspaces each person can access and their roles.
These temporary opening hours are only shown from 19 to 30 July.

Large type, a calm layout.

Start with a template for the day’s activities, the weekly menu or this month’s birthdays. They use a typeface designed for readers with low vision, with strong contrast. Change the name, text and colours to suit your home.

Want help with the design? Tell Lumi, our AI designer, what you’d like to show. Edit the result and choose when to publish it. Lumi stays off until an owner turns it on, and owners and administrators can switch it off for the whole organisation. With Lumi off, nothing from your pages or prompts goes to Lumi’s AI providers.

Start with one display.

Try it on the display in the restaurant or the lounge. You can add more units or locations later.

Use the screens you already have

Lumicast runs on supported Samsung smart TVs, professional LG displays and Android devices without a separate player. If your display cannot run it directly, connect a Pixie player through HDMI.

Practical questions.

Can we pull the programme from our calendar?

Yes. The Calendar app shows events from any calendar with an ICS link, such as Outlook or Google Calendar. When you change the calendar, the display updates by itself. The app is included in Solo and Team.

Can we show residents’ names?

You decide what you publish. Ask residents or their family for permission before showing a name or birthday, and keep medical or other confidential details off any display visitors can see.

Does it work on the TVs in residents’ rooms?

Lumicast plays through a player or an app on the display itself, such as a Samsung smart TV. It isn’t a channel that appears in a cable TV package. To reach the rooms as well, each TV needs a player or the app.

Can several locations work separately?

Yes. With Team, each location gets its own workspace and colleagues get a suitable role. Each location then manages its own displays.

What do I do if the display stays black?

Check that the display is on and the right input or app is selected. Lumicast shows whether it is online, and supported players can be restarted remotely. Using the built-in browser of a smart TV, such as a Samsung TV? Switch the TV off and on with the remote. If Lumicast doesn't come back by itself, open the browser and go to player.lumicast.com. Still having trouble? Create a ticket in Lumicast and tell us which device you use and what you see. Support is available on weekdays from 09:00 to 17:00. Outside those hours and at weekends we help where we can, but we can’t promise a response time.
