Show students which lesson is cancelled, which room has changed and who is replacing their teacher. Lumicast fetches the changes from Zermelo automatically, so you don’t have to enter them again.

Show changes for the whole school in the main hall. In another wing, show only those for the classes or rooms there. Choose what students see on each screen.

Filter by location, group or room, so students don’t have to search through changes for the whole school. You can also exclude subjects.
Old changes disappear automatically
Choose how long a change stays visible. Hide lessons that have already started, with a grace period for late arrivals if needed.
Readable in the corridor or main hall
Adjust the font size and row spacing to suit your screen. Choose a compact or spacious table with your own background. Show lesson times or period numbers.
More changes than fit on one page?
If the list is too long for one page, the app cycles through the changes. Choose how much time students get to read each page.
A notice when data is out of date
If the app cannot fetch fresh data, it can show a warning. Choose how many minutes should pass before it appears, so students know some changes may be missing.
More room on screens side by side.
When there are lots of timetable changes, you don’t want to keep shrinking the text. Spread the overview across several screens, each showing the next part of the list. This is called cluster mode.

From Zermelo to your screen.
Your Zermelo administrator grants access to the timetable projects you want to use. Set up the display in Lumicast once. Changes are then fetched automatically.
Grant access in Zermelo
Add Lumicast under Partners in the Zermelo Portal and create an authorisation code for the projects you want to use.
Connect your timetable
Create a Zermelo data source in Lumicast. Use the authorisation code to connect and select your timetable project.
Choose what students see
Connect the data source to the Zermelo app. Choose to show only changes, set your filters and layout, and place the app on your screens.
Already connected using an API token? That connection is still supported. New connections use Zermelo’s partner permissions.

Combine timetable changes with an announcement, photo or clock on the same page. Or alternate the overview with news about an open day, an activity or other messages for students.

Do we need to enter timetable changes in Lumicast too?
No. Your timetable administrator keeps working in Zermelo. Lumicast fetches the changes automatically. You only need to make changes in Lumicast if you want a different selection or layout.
Can we show the full timetable too?
Yes. Choose between timetable changes only and all planned lessons. You can still filter by location, group or room, limit the view to the next few hours and sort by start time, group, teacher or room.
What do we need to get started?
A Zermelo environment, someone who can configure its partner permissions and a Lumicast Team plan. You also need a screen with a supported player. Existing screens will often work. If you need a separate player, our Pixie player is a one-off €150.
Which timetable data does Lumicast fetch, and where does it go?
The integration retrieves the timetable fields your school allows in Zermelo: times, subjects, teacher codes, groups, rooms and changes. We keep the latest data on our servers in Europe and overwrite it with each update. Deleting the data source also removes the retrieved data. Lumi only works on a user’s instruction, but can then read the content that user can access in the workspace, including the timetable data. Lumi stays off until an owner turns it on, and an administrator can switch it off again for the whole organisation.
Will our existing Zermelo connection still work?
Yes, existing API-token connections are still supported. New connections use Zermelo’s partner permissions. There is one difference to keep in mind: Zermelo does not provide announcements through the partner connection. Timetables and timetable changes are available.
What happens if the internet connection drops?
New timetable data requires an internet connection. Without one, the app cannot fetch new changes. You can set how many minutes should pass before a notice warns that the data may be out of date.
Can we try the integration with our own timetable?
Yes. The 14-day trial includes Team, so you can connect your own Zermelo environment. You will need the appropriate permissions in Zermelo. If you do not choose a plan afterwards, the displays stop playing. Your workspace and content remain available.
